Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role

Dastify Solutions is seeking a Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist to investigate unpaid insurance claims and move outstanding accounts toward resolution.

You will review payer responses, research denials and follow up on delayed or incomplete payments. This role requires persistence, sound judgment and clear documentation of every action taken.

What You’ll Do

• Review A/R aging reports and prioritize accounts by age, balance and filing or appeal deadlines.
• Contact insurance companies through payer portals and telephone follow-up.
• Investigate denied, unpaid and underpaid claims.
• Interpret explanation of benefits and electronic remittance information.
• Prepare corrected claims, reconsiderations or appeals with appropriate supporting documents.
• Coordinate with billing, coding and credentialing teams to resolve underlying issues.
• Record payer responses, reference numbers, next steps and follow-up dates.
• Flag recurring denial patterns and escalate accounts requiring additional review.
• Recommend adjustments for review within company approval procedures.

What You’ll Bring

• At least two years of medical insurance A/R or denial follow-up experience.
• Knowledge of payer reimbursement processes and claim status research.
• Experience reading remittance information and denial reason codes.
• Ability to manage an assigned queue and prioritize time-sensitive accounts.
• Confident telephone communication and clear account documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

• Medicare, Texas Medicaid and commercial insurance follow-up.
• Underpayment research and appeal preparation.
• Physician practice or multispecialty A/R.
