Medicare enrollment takes 60–90 days. For DMEPOS suppliers, the process is stricter and requires a mandatory on-site inspection to verify inventory and operational compliance.
Yes. While a valid place of service is required, applications may be filed up to 30 days before your official opening date. You cannot use a home address as a practice location, but it can be used for correspondence.
Most individual providers must revalidate every 5 years (via PECOS or CMS-855I). Failure to respond within 60 days can lead to a suspension of billing privileges.
